Toulon, France

The French are coming and they won’t be lacking confidence. Flying the flag for the Northern Hemisphere at the Brisbane Global Tens in 2017,  RC Toulonnais as they are officially known, will be out to prove a point.

For starters, Toulon is perhaps the wealthiest club in world rugby – and they aren’t shy about spending their money. With a league of nations squad that contains the likes of Ma’a Nonu, Brian Habana, Drew Mitchell, Matt Giteau, James O’Connor, Leigh Halpenny and Juan Martin Fernadez Lobbe, the issue will be who to leave out rather than who to pick. Having dominated Europe with three consecutive Heineken Cup titles between 2013 and 2015, it’s no wonder they are confident.
